Neurofeedback (EEG Biofeedback)
Neurofeedback, also known as EEG Biofeedback, enables us to hear and see slight changes in brain function. Symptoms of these disorders such as ADD/ADHD, Autism, and stress and language disorders are traced by Brainmapping so we can know exactly where in the brain these abnormal patterns are occurring. Neurofeedback enables us to access this dysfunctional neuronal network by placing EEG electrodes over the appropriate sites; a painless process. The feedback presented to the patient as a video game will encourage high function to replace symptomatic low function. With repetition and encouragement this new pattern becomes a permanent usable feature. Without usage the response will be lost.

Drake’s program supports the integration of this new level of improved mental performance which can then lead us to a non-symptomatic patient. Drake actually seeks better than normal results - we encourage a heightened level to help correct for previously inadequate performance that no doubt has led to many experiences of failure doing the very same tasks. The program’s high standard is designed to become a corrective measure for the patient’s self esteem issues that can accumulate over time.

Your Neurofeedback Program

The QEEG Brainmapping procedure will locate the exact neuron network to maximize results. The Drake protocols and the advanced equipment we use will also maximize results. Drake’s program will likely require 20-50% less treatment sessions than almost all other providers, and yet how do we know when enough sessions are in fact enough?

With simple ADD we find that 30 sessions are all that is required in 80% of our cases. With ADHD where there is a more complex picture so we require 40 sessions and in 80% of cases that is enough.

In more complex ADHD cases and all Autism and Asperger’s patients, additional treatment may be required. We feel that with these more severe conditions it is best to extract the most potential from each individual program. Therefore, at the completion of 40 sessions a new brain map is done to measure the degree of impact thus far. We determine if there’s a likelihood of further benefit of 10 to 20 or more sessions based on a third brain map to follow. These patients have the most to gain if we can stretch their capacities to new limits and we can’t do so without monitoring progress. To date the results have been astonishing when this limit is reached.

Neurofeedback for Enhancing Performance

In line with the idea of reaching high limits for patients we may be leaving out an important group: those seeking exceptional goals. This process can be and has been successfully utilized again and again to raise human performance to its highest levels. Students involved in academic endeavors are invited to look at their brain function using the same technology we use for patients. Self knowledge is key to achieving the real goal of knowing the world around us.

Once we see the unique profile of an academic or sports athlete we can build strength, by exercising the neuronal networks most involved in successful achievement. Not only does this training provide an edge in living successfully, but it can be a valuable tool for reducing stress generally. Many of our staff members and all of our upper level personnel have benefited from this Drake program.
